Thank You Mom!

I never realise how difficult it is to be a mother until I become one. All those sleepless nights are killing me. Suddenly, my life changed 360 degrees and I almost could not take it. I cried many times and had all the symptoms of post-partum depression.

My Mum was there to support and encourage me all the time, throughout my pregnancy till now. There were times were during midnight, I slept like a pig, couldn't hear the babies crying as I really beh tahan and was too tired. But she was there to feed and burp the babies. The confinement lady that I hired really useless. Sleep and snore like a pig. Sometimes I shout loud loud also she cannot hear... I have to shake her to wake her up. NIAMAH CCB!! I hired her to sleep more than me and my mum!

Now I really heartache to see my Mum looking so tired each day and yet, she can still do all the house work and take care of babies. I feel so sorry and really don't know how to repay her. I told her how sorry I felt and all she says was she enjoy doing all these.

Today, I was at the padeatrician clinic and I was talking to another woman, whose mother also quit her job just to help her daughter with her newborn. She told us that taking care of 1 baby is already very tiring, she can't imagine taking care of 2 babies.

I really appreciate what my Mum is doing and really don't know how to repay her.

I Love You, MUMMY!

Xi'An Day 2

Day 2 of our Xi’An trip started off with breakfast at McDonalds (haha!) Ok… we departed at 9am and headed to the Terracotta Warrior site. The ride took about an hour before we finally reached the main destination for this trip.

This place is amazing and me being the second time here, I still find it truly amazing with great stories and history dating back to 3000 years ago. We managed to hire a very, very good tour guide who told us interesting stories in his very own interesting way. He was so good that everyone stopped to listen to our guide, which actually made me feel rather agitated coz we paid him.

There comes to a part where the story really made me felt sad. Not far away from the site where they discoverer the Terracotta Warriors, there is a site where they found human skeleton, stacked up to 4 levels of skeletons. Most of them are in different positions, giving signs that these people were buried alive. They believe that these skeletal remains are the sculptors of the Terracotta. Emperor Qin Shih-Huang wanted to keep this a secret and therefore summoned for all the people involved in the sculpture to be killed. It is really sad.

Our next destination was the Huaqing Pool, where the famous Yang Gui-Fei (Yang Concubine) bathed. It’s like the Roman Bath… but this is the Chinese Bath!

Some foreigners trying on ancient clothings and posing. It's fun watching them.

Our last destination for the day is the Ancient City Wall surrounding Xi’An city center.

I love this particular shot taken by EC. Beautiful and natural. I felt like a model...

View from above the wall.

We were starving after the last destination and guess where we had dinner? Pizza Hut!!! Darn! We couldn’t find a better restaurant and also didn’t want to walk any further because we were all too hungry.

After dinner, we went to a pub near hotel and had a couple of drinks. We had a total of 18 bottles of Budweiser – just the 6 of us. Darn cheap… cost RMB240 only. (that’s RM120) A couple of singers sang there and they’re really good singers! We had a really good time.

I love this trip. I had so much fun with Mum. Mum is going home this Friday. I will miss her…

Xi'An Day 1

Qing Ming holidays, 4th-6th April, we took a trip to Xi'An, the city of the Terracotta Warriors. I brought my Mum, cousin Rachel, and we went there together with Nicole, EC and EC's friend, Simon. We woke up early in the morning and headed to airport at 6am. I was kinda pissed off coz Simon was late at the meet up point. He couldn't get a taxi coz it was raining. But why can't he booked a cab the night before? Anyways, we managed to be at airport on time but without sufficient time for breakfast.

Picture taken at airport - 4 beautiful ladies.

Flight to Xi'An took about 2 hours from Shanghai. When we reached Xi'An airport, we were greeted by the bus driver whom I booked to bring us around the places the interest for 3 days. It's a medium sized, 19 seater bus - just for the 6 of us. It was a luxurious ride :)

The first thing we did was to check-in at Bell Tower hotel, perfect location just in front of the Bell Tower within the City Wall. Took some time for the room to be ready and we went to look for food. Food was awful coz we didn't know what to eat and had a quick lunch at the food court in a nearby mall.

We went to first place of interest, Shaanxi Provincial Museum. This place was free of charge, and just like any other museum, it introduces the history of Xi'An, previously known as Chang An and it's emperor, dynasties, etc.

Here are some pictures taken, some of which courtesy of Mr Qua, aka ‘EC’. Have to give him some credit else he will not share his photos next time. Ha!

Candid picture taken by EC. I like it coz it's natural...

Our next destination is the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, the temple of the Tang Monk, the master of the famous ‘Monkey God’.

Mum, Simon and EC.

Beautiful flowers within the area of the temple.

I love this picture, looks as though I'm floating in the air.

Another candid picture taken by EC while I pose for Nicole on another camera. Very natural, just like I'm modeling for some ad, ya.

We were tired for the day and went to look for food at the nearby Muslim west street. I must say this place is really crowded and having lots of things to see, but I didn’t like it coz it was dirty.

Picture of Mum taken in front of our hotel, just opposite the Bell Tower.

We had dinner at one of the Muslim restaurant and ordered BBQ lamb. Not bad at all.

Xi'An has a very colorful and bright night life. It's rather happening.

This is the end of Day 1. Coming up, Day 2… have to break this post into 2 as I haven’t enough time to load of pictures in. Pics from EC’s camera are quite large due to high resolution and I didn’t want to resize them to preserve the good quality.
