Gambling Ghost

Wahahaha.... last night, a bunch of gambling ghost stayed at my place and gambled Texas Hold'Em Poker all night long till 4am!!! Really 'lan tou gwai'!!!!

I don't mind having 'lan tou gwai' at my house... because I had a lot of fun too. I think we are still in CNY mood. Muahahahha! Thank God I didn't lose much last night.

My house was in a mess this morning. Did a quick cleaning and leave the rest to the maid tomorrow. I thought I'd be having another boring weekend, but it ended up fantastic! Can't live without my dear friends in Shanghai!

Slumdog Millionaire

I watched Slumdog Millionaire with friends yesterday. This falls into the category of one of the best movies I have watched.

It really open up my eyes to things which we took for granted in our lives and showed me different aspects of life in Mumbai. The kids in this movie did an incredible job, and I mean INCREDIBLE!! The lead actor, Dev Patel made the movie totally with his incredible expressions and talent. What a performance!!

This movie touched my heart on so many aspects. Not going to say much about it as I don't want this to be a spoiler for those who has yet to watch.

No one should miss this movie. It is truly one of the best movies ever made.

My Belated Valentine Post

2009 Valentine's day was not celebrated with my Hubby. Dear Hubby was away for work this year and so I spent it with.....

Friends who has no where better to go or no one better to spend valentines day with ... hahahaha!

I cooked bakuteh, curry chicken and some vege while Deisy contributed her pork chop. We even had red bean soup for dessert.

Keng Fei and Winston contributed a lot. They cooked chilli eggs!!! Well... they almost blow my kitchen apart. Imagine two guys trying to cook one dish...the situation is so intense. They poured oil into the wok halfway through frying the chilli. But they pulled it through and made good food!! A big applause to both of them :)

After makan, we played 'in between' and made hell a lot of noise and screaming.

I lost about RMB250 to these 2 guys...

It was a very different Valentine's day for me and all of us. We all had fun! Cheers.... and Happy Valentines Day!!

My Secret Diary

I have never posted anything sad in this blog. Instead, I have another hidden online diary which was never revealed to anyone, except for another blogger friend, who commented that what she read there was very revealing. Yes indeed… that secret diary stores my deepest, darkest private life and I only blog in there when I feel low and down.

Last night, I wrote something in there again, and that was the first post in 1 ½ years. I have not touched that blog for 1 ½ years. That shows how happy I was in the past 1 ½ years and 2008 was one of my happiest years.

2009 is full uncertainties for me. I will be losing everything that I have built up in the past 3 years in Shanghai. Everything seems to go back to square one for me… just thinking about this fact breaks my heart.

I guess I need to count my blessing instead of thinking about all bad things to come. 2009 has been tough for everyone given the current economic situation and I know a lot of people have lost their jobs. This is far worse than what I am going through now. I keep reminding myself of this fact that I still have so much to give and take, but sometimes, I just can’t help feeling down and low.

I hope God will give me the strength to be strong and to stay strong for the people I love. I pray that God will help me maintain the happiness that I have enjoyed, the money that I am earning so that I can continue keeping my family happy and less pressured.

To my dear friend Lydia… thank you so much for being there to listen to all my shits despite yourself being in a much worse situation than me. I think you are the first blessing that God has given me the minute I pen this post. I hope everything work out fine for you too and may God bless you!

Quote of the Day

Whatever you give to a woman, she will make it greater.
If you give her sperm, she'll give you a baby.
If you give her a house, she'll give you a home.
If you give her groceries, she'll give you a meal.
If you give her a smile, she'll give you her heart.
She multiplies and enlarges what is given to her.
So if you give her any crap, be ready to receive a ton of shit!

And this one last line I shall add in on my own:
Give her tons of money, and she'll give you all of the above!

Happy Belated Blogaversary!!!

OMG!!!! I totally forgot of my beloved blog's birthday. I was supposed to post this on 2nd Feb. Last year, I was 3 days late with the same post and this year, I'm 10 days late in wishing my blog a very Happy 2nd Year Anniversary!!!! OMG!! Signs of old age... forgetfulness.

2 years of blogging and I hope I can continue blogging for as long as I could. Again, the same old 'loutou' words...

A big Thank you to all my blogsphere friends for all your constant support! You all made a huge difference and kept me blogging!

Happy 2nd Year Blogaversary, Purple-Mushroom!

Blue Sky

These pictures are taken by a friend on 26 January 2009 - Day 1 of Chinese New Year. This is something that I will never see or have never seen in Shanghai - Blue Sky.

There is something exciting about this last picture. If you take a close look, there is an orange ball, something that looked like a basketball on the sky. I wonder if that's a UFO??

Winston's Bday Celebration

Winston turns to BIG 33 on Sunday. We celebrated his birthday at a Vietnamese restaurant - Winston's treat coz he won big money from his company's annual dinner.

We bought Winston a very cute little cake with his name written in Chinese on it by accident. Supposed to a Chinese New Year cake with the word 发。So happens Winston's chinese name is 发 as well.

See Winston is so happy that he turns 33! Good number!

EC, Dominic, Jay & Deisy, Keng Fei, Winston the Bday Boy, me and Gan JS.

Can see how happy Winston is... clapping away while we sang him the 'sang yat fai lok' song.

I must say it's a challenge to cut the cake as the cake has fences all over!

We hope Winston had fun on his b'day and we believed he did. We even went out for k-session at night to sing with him... but we forgot to sing him another b'day song. Ooopss!

CNY Dine and Sing

I had a happening night on CNY day 2. It was family time... we went out to Saisaki for dinner before heading to Red Box at Gardens, Mid Valley.

The cousins' group shot. Raymond, my brother Douglas, Yenli, Yenfang and Robin.

The Mums all had fun singing oldies and hokkien songs that night. They even danced! Gosh

Trying to figure out how to use the Red Box system. I am so used to the systems in Shanghai's Party World and I still think Party World has a much better system.

By the look of my brother's face, you can guess how bad my singing was... haha!

The 2 main singers of the night. Not me, but it was Robin and Yenfang. Both of them can really sing and Robin has a great voice!

We were so happy that even Choy Sun came in to join the fun!

My... What was my bro trying to do up there, and I have no idea what Ray is trying to do to his sister... People really do crazy things that night!

Just shortly around 3am, we had a toss of prosperity... included under Red Box's CNY package.

It was a really fun night and we only went home around 4am. I have never had this kind of long nights outing with family members before, and it was really fun! Am looking forward to do this again on my next trip back.

My Shanghai Ole Pals

I met Eric while I was back in KL. He is a true entrepreneur now, having 2 shops at Times Square. He is selling Korean style clothes for young chaps... the 'in' and 'hip' styles. Sorry Eric, didn't buy any from you, not suitable for my Hubby or brother, not to mention my Dad. They are all out-dated for these kind of fashion. Haha! Anyone interested can visit Eric's shop at level 4, Berjaya Times Square.

It's good to meet up, Eric. Glad that you are doing well and hoping to attend your planned wedding, either on 09/09/09 or 10/10/10. 加油, Eric!!

I bumped into Princess Eileen at KLIA on the day I return to Shanghai. It's such a small world. She is sending her Dad off to Hanoi. Eileen has really slim down a lot!! She is so slim now, dyed her hair brown and rather tanned. You look good, Eileen. Can't recognise you. So glad you called out my name in front of the washroom. Haha!

It's good to see these ole Shanghai pals. Reminds me of the good times spent together back in Shanghai. Time flies. My holiday is over and I'm back in cold Shanghai. Not sure when and where will my next vacation be.
