Cibai-lang in my office

Yesterday, I attended a short Lean Six Sigma training in my company. The person who is in charge is a Singaporean and he is really the typical Singaporean.

For all Singaporeans reading this, I am not trying to make fun of Singaporeans, coz I do have very nice and good Singaporean friends. But this fucker… really too much. Here’s why.

When I introduced myself, he started to ask if I was from HK. I told him I’m Malaysian. Then he says he’s Singaporean, which I already knew. Then he started to say the following:

  • He told the whole audience that Malaysia kicked Singapore out of the country and now SG is doing much better than MY and he is proud of it.
  • He asked me if I knew about the fight between MY and SG about an island, which I say I have no idea what that was about. He said that I do not need to know, because we are going to loose anyway. KNNCCB!
  • Then when he asked questions, he directed it to me, and say “show me the Malaysia Truly Asian capability”

Tiu nia sing! What kind of attitude is that? Did I stepped on his toes or what? Cibai lang! I didn’t say anything bad to him because I am a civilized person. Let him have all his fun and all the cheena in that session don’t even know what the heck he was talking about. I thought only certain cheenas are uncivilized… who knows… my company’s Singaporean employee also so uncivilized. What a shame!

Weekend Ikea and Dulan Plant

Last Saturday, I went to Ikea with Elizebeth DL and Nicole. In the bedroom section, here is what we saw:

This fucker is really sleeping!!! I have never seen such an act before... OMG!!! I don't know if this is an act to make the patrons laugh or is he for real.

Anyway, I bought some plants and took it to office today. Not that my office has no plants, but I love to have a personal plant on my table.

Any plants that I have will die easily. I don't have green fingers. But Elizebeth DL says this plant is tahan lasak plant and won't die easily. I emailed her this morning to ask if I need to water this plant everyday. Elizebeth told me that I don't need to water if the soil is wet. I replied asking her if I need to touch the soil to see if it is moist or wet... just to purposely make her dulan at my silly question... kekeke. She gave me very funny reply:

"use your eyes to see. very easy one. see moisture or not.
also see the leaves. You will know whether it is "happy" or "not happy".
when the plant dulan, it also got one kinda face one. Very obvious, then u know something wrong."

Wah... I didn't know plant will dulan also. I shall see... wakakakaka!

The Children of Huangshi

Last night, I watched 2 movies. Cloverfield and The Children of Huangshi.

Cloverfield was scary because you could place yourself in such situation and freak out a bit. It was being shot like a documentary or live video but this show is without ending. We just know that the owner of the video cam died, but we do not know what happened to NY or the alien. I guessed all hapus in the end!

Then I watched The Children of Huangshi. This is a terrific movie. I love it. It makes me wonder if I was born in the era of war, where will I be, what will I do and how will I protect my family.

It's a touching movie, inspired by true life events, about how an Englishman, George Hogg, lead and struggle to save a group of orphaned children during the Japanese occupation in China. The saddest part was in the end, when he died of sickness after he had successfully brought the children thousand of miles across the mountain to safety.

In the end of the movie, a lot of old men commented on their experience with Hogg. These old men are the orphans whom Hogg saved during the wartimes. They are all around 70-80 years old now. What they described in the end is truly touching. It really made me wonder how a person can sacrifice his own comfort at home to come to this land called China and help those in need.

Very good movie, highly recommended.

My Weekend

On Saturday, I went out with Nicole to collect our tailored pants. Later in the evening, we went to have a hairdo. I had a cut, a perm and 2 treatments, one before perm and one after perm. Cost me a total of RMB770. That's RM380. Really cheap as compared to Malaysia, and they did a good job. I would say the hairstylist here are much better than those in Malaysia. They can make your hair look like those Japanese girl style.. very natural and nice. Besides my hair, I did manicure too... RMB40 for O.P.I manicure. Cheap eh..!

After that, we went for dinner and shopped a little. We saw this:

I wonder who did this to the poor mannequin and whether this is really a fashion. If it is... who is going to wear this baju? Definitely not me.

Today I stayed at home with my hubby and cooked him dinner. I cooked too many dishes.

Sweet and sour prawns

Minced meat tofu

Cabbage

Stew pork belly

Herbal chicken soup

My Hubby was having his nap when I cooked. When he woke up, he asked me why I cook so much. This is enough for 4 person! I also don't know why I cooked 4 dishes plus soup. Crazy liao. Too much food, too full and unable to finish everything. On top of that, we still have pineapple for dessert. But we ate it at around 10pm.

Tomorrow is Monday again. Weekend is always too short. Sigh! I wish it was still Saturday.

Neighbor Affair

Have you ever heard screams of your neighbor’s love-making session?
Well, a couple of weeks ago, as I was putting out some clothes to dry on the balcony. I was shocked when I heard a woman screaming in orgasm. It was really loud… and I mean LOUD!!! My actions of hanging the clothes were paused and my eyes widen. I was like… OMG!!!! The first thing I did was to continue to listen but there was just silent. I guessed she had had her time… kau tim! I quickly text my hubby to tell him what I heard. Hahah!

Yesterday morning, as I was lying in bed after the alarm goes off, I heard the screams again. It was not orgasm yet this time. It was the love making session. Wuah… I couldn’t help but continue to listen and chuckle in bed. OMG!!! This is so entertaining… too bad my hubby is still snoring away. He missed it again.

My friend who is staying at the same estate as me told me that the walls are quite thin, because his neighbors complaint of his television noise at night. I guess I have to be careful too. Hahaha!

Meals

Last Thursday, we had a farewell dinner for Calvin who will be going back to HK. We had Peking Duck. This is by far the worst restaurant in Shanghai I have been to, given that we have to pay RMB120 per person for this really lousy meal. Not a single dish taste good.

This is the chef slicing off the skin off the duck.

The sliced duck skin... very oily. We need to wrap it inside the popia skin with some vege and sauce, and in the end, I can only taste the sauce and the thickness of the popia wrap.

On Saturday, me and Nicole went for karaoke. Before that, we had a drink at UBC coffee and ordered chicken wings. We found the chicken wings not fully cooked and made a complaint. The waitress took the wings away and then came back and told us that the chef is absolutely sure that the chicken wings are cooked. KNN! We told her we are the one eating the wings... and whether it is cooked or not, we will know. The meat is still stucked to the bones and we are unable to bite it off... it's uncooked!! She took the wings back again and then returned with microwaved wings... never even bother to give us a new dish!

Today, I decided to cook some simple meal for my Hubby. Steam chicken with mushroom and lily buds, brocolli with mushroom and raddish with pai kuat soup. Simple yet delicous and healthy. Better than paying so much for some lousy food I had over the week.

What to Wear??

I always have a problem on weekdays… what to wear to work? And especially at weather like this in Shanghai, sometimes hot, sometimes cold… and when it’s cold outside, it’s warm in the office. And when it’s warm out there, it’s cold in the office because they either blast the heater, or blast the air cond. Stupid! It is really very difficult to decide. I have to watch the weather forecast to see how cold or how warm tomorrow will be. Very tough decision.

Yesterday was rather warm. So I wore a low cut to work… so low and so sexy that when I bend down a bit, can see my nen nen. Blardy… give all the cheenamen the advantage of seeing my cleavage. More cleavage to come during summer. Yoohoo to all the cheenamen. Today was blardy cold again, and I wore a vest over my shirt. Looked so conservative.

As I am writing this, my mind keeps thinking what to wear tomorrow. Not only will I need to think of what clothes to wear, but I also need to think of what shoes to wear. Not that I have plenty of shoes, but because some heels are higher which make my pants look short, I need to decide what pants to wear if I would like to wear a shoe with a higher heel. Am I very mah fan?? Why girls so mah fan one? Or is it only me that is mah fan?

The Break Up

I was on MSN with a friend today and we had this conversation:

Me: Gimme some inspiration… I wanna blog.
Her: What inspiration? I am so down. What do you think?
Me: Why? Still thinking of him?
Her: Ya, a bit.
Me: Shall I blog about that?
Her: About what? My bastard?
Me: Hahaha…. Bastard.

She actually called him ‘Bastard’. What happened is that my friend just broke off with her ‘bastard’ bf. You must be wondering what on earth this guy has done that she called him that.

The story goes like this… My friend’s bf tells her that he will marry her in 2008. Then last year, when she started to talk about marriage, he gave her this answer: “如果你要我和你结婚,我情愿分手”. (“If you want me to marry you, I’d rather break off”). Girls… what do you think? Is this the sentence of a bastard? I got tulan when I hear this, I am sure my friend is really hurt when her bf tells her this. Funny thing is, he still tells her that he loves her and his actions tells her that he still cares for her. Selfish pig!

Last Thursday, he accused her of having ‘feelings’ for her ex-boss, which obviously, it’s a long time story and this issue has never surfaced before. Because of this, they broke off. My friend thinks that he is just looking for some excuse to break off with her, which I think so too. Lame excuse indeed. Why can’t he just be a man and tell her the truth? Why need excuses for breaking off?

Now, the underlying question is that why some men are not willing to get married? I know a lot of debate and books have been written about this topic, and personally, I also know some guys who really do not want to get married. They just want to have a companion. But how many girls are willing to be that ’companion’; the person who is there for him, but who does not own any status or sense of security at all? Am wondering will there be any woman out there who’s willing to sacrifice this way for love? I believe there are, but I have yet to meet one. I definitely will not live life that way.

Why, why, why? Are these guys afraid of commitment, or lack of confidence in marriage, or just simply have not met the right girl? Is it because of family history, something that happened in the past that made them afraid of getting married and thus avoiding it?

I actually feel happy that my friend finally broke off with this guy, but I also feel sad that she is hurting. I hope she recovers soon and I am sure someday, she will meet the right person who loves her and want to be with her for the rest of her life.

Macau Trip

Over the Qing Ming holiday in China, I went to Macau with my Hubby. We stayed at The Venetian Macao Resort Hotel, located at the Cotai Strip in Taipa. This place is huge and you really do not need to get out of this building, it has everything under one roof. Our first impression of this place is that it is really posh… truly renovated to look like those buildings that we’ve seen during our Europe tour.

This is the hotel main lobby. All the interior decoration looks like those palace and churches in France, Italy and Venice.

Have you ever seen a casino hotel that gives you a map to your room? After we checked in, we were given the instructions on how to get to our room. We have to walk so far to the other end to get to our room,

We finally arrived at our suite.

Not bad… very nicely decorate bed and fully equipped with fax machine and high speed internet connection.

Take a look at the bathroom… I love it! If I have a chance to own a big house, I will renovate the bathroom this way. Hehe.

First thing we did was to look for food, and we had a quick one at the food court. Take a look at the ceiling… it was painted with illusions of sky and clouds and it looks so real. Not cheap eating here too. One simple meal like the hainanese chicken rice can easily cost HKD55. But it was good!

After our meal, we went out to Macau city to visit the landmark… the Ruins of the St. Paul.

We also went to see the Macau God of Gambler’s casino, also the very first Macau casino, the Lisboa. This is the old and original Lisboa casino.

This is the new Grand Lisboa… it should be really pretty at night with all the lights.

We went back to The Venetian, took a rest before heading for dinner. Since I had my bonus and increment, I treated my Hubby a nice meal at 3 Monkeys. :)

We had nachos, salad, bruschetta, pizza and pasta. Too much food and we wasted the pizza. Can’t finish it.

After meal, we went to shop around at the Grand Canal Shoppes inside Venetian. If you take a look at these picture, you really cannot differentiate whether this is the real Venice or not. But because we have seen the Venice, we think that this place really, really look like the real thing!

The next day, after breakfast, we took the Cotai Jet and headed to HK. Actually, it’s stupid decision because the time spent in HK is too short and we didn’t manage to shop for anything. Should have spent the day in the casino. We head back to Macau in the evening, freshen up, and went for dinner before heading for….

Jay Chou concert!!!

Initially, we didn’t manage to get any tickets because it was sold out. I was so disappointed. But there were some people selling black market tickets and I was so happy to get those. I love Jay Chou!! He is my favourite singer. He is really good!

My favourite part of the concert was during he played the piano and sang all the love songs...

This part is where he sang my favourite song... 开不了口。

This concert perfected our vacation! After the concert ends, we spend some time in the casino. It's really huge and open concept casino where you can see it from the lobby. Too bad we are not allowed to take any pictures, there were security all over preventing people from taking photographs. I am not good at gambling so I lost HKD300. Should have leave when I won a bit. But greedy... stay on until lost money. Thank God it was only HKD300... else I will cry!

We checked out on the third day and headed back to Shanghai. Though The Venetian is a nice place to stay, but it does have some flaws in the services which I don't really like. For example, I need to change my flight, and the business center did not manage to help me accomplished that. I have to call my travel agent in Shanghai and she had it done for me. Good job to my SH travel agent. They have these services at night, even on weekends. Second thing is the shuttle bus services. The hotel provides shuttle bus services, but when we told them we need to depart to the airport at 9.o0am, they say the shuttle bus services starts at 10am. We had to take the taxi. Why can't they have earlier shuttle services??

This is the end of my Macau trip and it was close to perfect. Our only mistake was going to HK. Should have stayed and gamble more... hahaha!
