Blue Sky

These pictures are taken by a friend on 26 January 2009 - Day 1 of Chinese New Year. This is something that I will never see or have never seen in Shanghai - Blue Sky.

There is something exciting about this last picture. If you take a close look, there is an orange ball, something that looked like a basketball on the sky. I wonder if that's a UFO??

Passport Renewal

I was supposed to meet Patrick on Tuesday after my passport renewal. But I did not meet him that day because I had a rather hilarious passport renewal process.

I woke up early in the morning, spent about 45 minutes in the traffic before reaching Kompleks Wilayah. Then I found out that the immigration department was closed. The officer there told me that the office 'sudah pindah' and asked me to go the one in Kota Damansara, the nearest to KL. And off I went to Kota Damansara.

Before I was about to reach, I realised something. SH*T!!! I forgot to bring my passport!!! How can you not bring your passport for renewal??!!!

No choice... head back home to get my passport. I called up immigration and asked them the nearest office to Serdang Raya. I was told to go to the Kajang Immigration dept. My Dad knows where the Kajang immigration office is as he just went there a couple of weeks ago. So off I went to Kajang.

When I reached that place, I couldn't find it and asked around. Then I was told: 'Sudah pindah'. WTF!!!!! Pindah again?? Why always pindah here and there? But luckily the new office is still within Kajang and there wasn't many people there. I managed to collect my passport within 2 hours but I missed the appointment with Patrick that day.

I ended up going to 4 places just to get my passport renewed. Damn!

Finally met up with Patrick on Wednesday at Dome Cafe, KLCC and had a good laugh over my passport renewal encounter.

Priceless at KLIA

Flight from Shanghai to KL - 5 hours
Aerotrain to Main terminal - 3 minutes
Immigration clearance - 1 minute
Baggage claim - 40 minutes

Watching people complain and curse the KLIA baggage system - Priceless!!

I always have the same complain too. Couldn't understand why the system sucks.

Neighbours from Hell

***ADVICE NEEDED!!***

I am blogging this on behalf of Shopaholicfern. Her blog is as good as dead and she is darn busy with all stuffs and nice things in life. Lazy bum she.

Fern stays in Malaysia, in a smaller city near to KL. Few weeks ago, a new Chinese family moved in directly beside her house. Their house is a double storey semi-D link house type, 30 x 60ft.

As Fern put it into words, they are suckers and inconsiderate bloody cuckoos. During weeknights, the kids (all 3 of them) like to play badminton and catching at 11pm-12mn, making damn blardy much noise by screaming and shouting... and sometimes at the driveway which is right next to her room. As for the parents, every weekend nights, they will invite friends over to play mahjong and have makan-makan... and this mahjong and makan session takes place outside the house at the driveway and garden instead of inside the house.

They always play past midnight and sometimes up till 2am. In addition, these sakais will take off their shirts, and in Fern’s very own words again, she wouldn’t mind if they are sexy guys but they are all blardy old and sagging late 30 and 40s.

Last Sat, Fern beh tahan and called the police. After the police left, their friends left too. But then, they went into the house and blast the amplifier and watched movie pulak.

Fern is being pushed to the limits and she is thinking of selling off the house and move elsewhere. And since these neighbors are uneducated village people, Fern is worried that if she calls the police too often, they might harm her and scratch her car.

So she needs some advice. What will you do if you are in this situation?

Holiday is always too short

One week is just like a blink of an eye. I was on the flight back to KL, and then I was on the flight back to SH again. :(

I miss my parents, I miss shopping with them and I miss going to night tai pai tong to makan with them.

This picture was taken from my condo... each time I look at this, I feel like I am back home. Ahh... nostalgia.

Went shopping with my parents at Sunway Pyramid and took this picture in the 'sotong' room where we bought the tit-bits.

Went to pasar malam on Friday night. I can't remember when was the last time I went to pasar malam. Then we went to the tai pai tong food court. It was great! I ordered kangkung sotong, laksa, marmite crab, satay and chicken wing. Really good. I am missing those food and feelings.

Dad, Mum, I miss you and I miss home. :(

The Difference

About 2 1/2 years ago, it cost me between RM65-RM70 for a full tank of petrol. Since I left KL, I 'kuasa' the car to my brother and he has been using it till now. I took the car today and I realised the tank was empty. I was like... niasing... my brother left me with an empty tank. But can't blame him, petrol so expensive nowadays. He told me that he only filled RM50 each time he goes to the petrol kiosk. I think he must be 'boh-lui' to fill full tank.

I went to the petrol kiosk and started filling in. I wanted to stop at RM50, as I will only be using the car for less than 1 day. But then, I thought I better top it up for my brother. Wah... it was just less than 3 years since I last pumped petrol... now a full tank for the same car cost me:

Expensive oh... !

I bought a Coach leather sling bag. Do I really need one? No!! Then why buy? Coz I like it...

I bought a Nokia E71 for my Hubby. Does he really need it? No!! Then why did I buy it? I just want to give hubby a little something coz he was complaining about his phone. I guess it's ok to buy this because it's not for myself. I am happy to give this to hubby when I return to Shanghai. Am sure he will love it. He better!

Food, Stuffs and Money

Had some of my favourite food... namely pan mee. I tried a new pan mee stall in Serdang Perdana near my house. They sell all kinds of pan mee style and even had one chilli pan mee like the famous Jln TAR's. But the taste is far behind Jln TAR's. I have yet to have my favourite Jln TAR pan mee. Will find one day to visit that stall.

I went to Din's Cafe at Cheras to have my favourite malay food. I had sefood tomyum,

Sambal udang petai... this is really delicious...

Telur dadar & kailan ikan masin, both a must haves for me whenever I have malay food...

And taukeh Din's recommendation of ikan siakap limau. We ate everything... semua habis, including the nasi. It was really good.

Before I came back to KL, I was thinking of not buying so many food stuffs this round. But who knows, my bags are now full of food stuffs. I really don't know why I bought so much when most of the barang can be found in Shanghai. Ok.. not all. I can't get Hup Seng's Ping Pong brand cream crackers. I bought Old Town White Coffee for EC. I bought some Alif brand kari nyonya paste and Uncle Sun's bak kut teh and chicken herbal soup packet. I also bought a lot of cosmetics. Sigh... each time come back sure used up a lot of money.

I went to post office to claim the road tax rebate. I made the claim for 2 cars. Went to pejabat pos Sri Petaling and I must say that service is pretty efficient.

There is a clear instruction displaying the steps to make a claim. I filled in the forms and took a number.

I have about 14 numbers ahead but I only waited for about 5 minutes for my turn. Good! The guy who serviced me is efficient too and he did things really fast.

Within 5 minutes, I got my RM1,250.00 cash for spending... muahahahahah!!!!

MONEY! MONEY! MONEY!

Wooo... We Lost

Lee Chong Wei just lost... and it's an ugly lost. Thank God I'm in Malaysia and don't have to go to work tomorrow. Else I don't know how to face my colleagues.

Lin Dan was too strong for him, and damn 'chuin' also. Tossed his racket and shoes to the audience. So smelly, yeee... he thinks he's Jay Chou.

Good job to Chong Wei for getting this far and congrats for his Silver medal. At least he is half a millionaire now.

Home Sweet Home

I am back in homeland, Boleh-Land. It's the place I called home because I was born here and my parents are here. I have already attacked Mum's home cooked chicken rice. Fantastic as ever! I hope I can control and not eat too much, else my hard work dieting for the past 2 months will go down the drain.

I will home for a week and this will be a very relaxed vacation for me. It's all about makan and shopping and watching TV with my parent. Will probably go watch a movie with them on Tuesday.

I also wanted to get another nice handbag. Gucci's latest are too wild and flowery for me. Coach sent me the latest Bleecker collection catalogue and I love them.

But I was thinking to get something different, maybe I will go check out Longchamp or Burberry. Shopping time tomorrow!

Stupid Fools

Few weeks ago, I contacted our consulate in Shanghai, asking for the passport renewal process. I called in few times and there was no answer. So I decided to email them instead. I clicked on the general inquiries email address and wrote this:

"Hi,
May I know if we could renew our passport here in Shanghai instead of flying back to KL to do it?"

2 days later, I received this reply:

"Please use proper salutation when contacting the consulate, such as Dear Sir instead of Hi".

KNNCCB!!! First of all... that was a general inquiry email and how the heck would I know that it will be directed to our mr. consulate, unless there is only 1 person doing all the work there. Second, why are they taking 2 days to reply a simple email? Third, what's wrong with "Hi"? Should I be addressing him as 'Your highness' in my next email? If this person is really so hard up for respect, then do something about your department and gain the respect! Pick up the phone!!!

Yesterday, my Hubby complained to me again. He tried to call the consulate in Shanghai and tried so many times without success. There was just no one there to pick up the f*cking phone!!! He asked his secretary to help him call and she too, could not get through. It wasn't a public holiday here in China or Malaysia, how come no one pick up the f*cking phone??!!

When his secretary finally get through, she was told that the passport renewal for Malaysians will take 2 months to complete. OMG!!!! 2 months!!!!! 2 f*cking months to renew our passport abroad. Wow... how efficient that is! Can't believe them! I'm speechless!

Stupid MAS Enrich

I have 13,000 MAS Enrich points and some are expiring soon this year. Even though I travel using MAS, but I seldom collect Enrich points because of this reason that they will expire. I collect NWA points instead. And NWA only requires 20k points to claim a SH-KUL return ticket as opposed to MAS's 35k points for the same journey. This is MAS stupidity.

So, back to the main story. I wanted to transfer my Enrich points to my friends because what's the use of keeping them when they will be wasted upon expiry, right? I happily go into Enrich site and perform a transfer online.

Then, MAS REAL STUPIDITY HAPPENED!!! I have to pay a total of RM560 to transfer the points!! That's 4 sen per point + RM40 admin fee. What the FUCK!!!! I have to pay to give my points for charity??!!! Can you believe this??? FUCK MAS!!! Forget it! Let it expire and I will cut my Enrich member card into 2.

Something to ponder

It felt like yesterday that I touched down at KLIA and happy to see my parents. As I was on my way to airport this morning, I had a flashback of the happenings and conversations I had over the past week back in KL, and for some reasons, I felt sad.

One of the common topics my friends shared with me was the current situation in Malaysia, and they meant the sense of security. Generally, no one feels safe anymore. Everyday we read and heard about cases of robbery, rape and murder.

We are all living in fear. We feel scared when we hear the sound of motorbike approaching; we feel scared when we stopped at the traffic lights and there is a motorbike beside our car; we feel scared walking alone in car parks; we feel scared driving alone at night, or even in broad daylight; we feel unsafe to be carrying our handbags; we even feel unsafe sleeping on our own bed at night, for fear that someone might just break in and kill us.

I remembered while Patrick was driving me to my aunt’s house, I asked him; “What has happened to our beloved country?” Patrick replied; “In my opinion, everything is caused by corruption. When there is corruption, prices increased. And when prices increased, many people could not afford. And when people could not afford, many resort to robbery and crime.” True? Is that why my homeland is becoming from bad to worse? But even so, I wonder why our government is not looking into this seriously. We can have hukuman gantung sampai mati for drug trafficking. Why not hukuman gantung sampai mati for robbery? Is our law so, so lenient that the robbers are not even afraid of?

Before I go into the departure hall this morning, I once again reminded Mum and Dad to be careful and to exercise caution wherever they go. I am not good at writing a serious note. I just want to express my disappointment and sadness. I cannot vote from overseas. All I can do is to hope and pray that someday, someone would step up and implement something to stop all these nonsense.

Sigh-ing off, drafted at approx. 1.15pm on 12th Feb 2008 on board flight MH388, Shanghai bound.

CNY Post II

On the fourth day of new year, I met up with my ACCA friends at Reunion Restaurant at Bangsar Village II. I must say it's a perfect name for a restaurant which is perfect for meet up as such.

This round, we ordered jelly fish yu sang.

So far, ACCA gang managed to meet up for lou sang every year. At the back from left, me, Shirley, Chong Heng and Pau San. Seated from left we have Boon Hwee, Wai Quin and Mei Yee.

For dinner, I have another lou sang. So tired of lou sang. This round is to lou with Eric before we all return to Shanghai. Winston fell sick and did not meet us. But I have seen enough of Winston.. hahah. We didn't managed to finish our yu sang this round. Everyone was too full and I am also too 'jelak' eating yu sang.

That's Eric and Jay standing, with me, Nicole and Elizebeth DL. This gang... we see each other in Shanghai and still wanna see each other when we're back in KL. Hahah... no la. It's really to meet our old friend Eric. I asked him if there are any chances that he will be going back to Shanghai. He said yes, maybe in 10 years' time. KNN! But as long as Eric is happy back in KL, he should stay here.

I will be leaving KL and heading back to Shanghai tomorrow. Time flies. So sad to be leaving my family again. This round, I am not sure when I will be back again. But I will try to find time to come back whenever I can.

Good Bye KL... see you again soon.

CNY Post

First of day CNY was a really boring day for me. I didn't go anywhere today and I was so bored that I just lie on my bed not knowing what to do. All I did was Facebook a little, do some vampire attacks and then started camwhoring. I took really ridiculous pics of myself that I don't eve dare to post it up on here. For instance... a rainbow in my room; with my wedding pic on the wall.

My legs... you can imagine how mou-liu I was. Siao-kar-lang! Legs also wanna take.

I thought this is one photo with my messed up hair looking exceptionally good here. So, I can post it up. Kekeke.

The second day of CNY was where the fun starts.. every year. I did some camwhore again in the morning, this time, with my newly bought Samsung SGH-U600. For some reasons, I regret buying this phone. I am still so used to Nokia's features and functions and the touch pad function on this Samsung phone is really a HUGE failure. Do not buy this phone!!! But it did a much better job in pictures because it's 3.2 megapixels compared to my lousy old Nokia which is only 1.3 megapixels.

I met up with Patrick and gang at Gary's house. Unfortunately, forgot to take some pics. But it was really fun meeting up old colleagues.

Then I went to big ayi's house and I saw 2 group of gamblers... one on the mah jong table, and another on the black jack table.

My cousin sis, Yen Li, who's back from Cambodia is the banker on the black jack table. She earns USD... and playing with RM is nothing for her.. haha. See.... Yen Li clapping her hands so happy... winning money. Don't play play!

This is Yen Fang, Yen Li's sister. She is the cousin sister who looks the most like me. When we walk out together, people will think that we are sisters.

On the third day of CNY, I met up with the AAT group for lunch and lou sang at Mid Valley. I have known this group of friends for 15 years now. We met on our first AAT session on 4-April-1994. That was how I met Winston as well.

This is Loong Fai with his wife and 2 kids. His elder son is 3 years old now. I can't believe I have not seen Loong Fai for 3 years! The last time I met him, his wife was pregnant with the first child. OMG!!! Time flies!!

This is Jasmine and Kar Mun. I have known Jasmine since school days and we did the craziest things!!! Jasmine is holding Loong Fai's daughter, not hers ah ... my mum initially thought Jasmine has a child! Haha.

Stanley and Stephie's turn to hold Loong Fai's daughter for picture taking. Haha! Looks like a family.

My turn to hold her... hahah. Loong Fai kept asking me when's my turn... sigh... So many people asking the same question. I really don't know la... maybe this year, maybe not. I don't think I am even prepared to be a mummy yet.

Finally, our lou sang session... we ordered a small lou sang because we were all pretty full. Looks pretty huh...

Then, after we lou, it became like this:

What a mess!!!!!!!!!

Then after we makan, it became like this.. All gone! Habis lou sang! Kekeke!

Tomorrow, I have another 2 rounds of lou sang for lunch and dinner.. yulks! Too much lou sang and feeling sick now. Yeee.... but it is always fun to hang around with friends on this auspicious day. I am happy!! 恭喜发财!

Hungry Ghost

That's me.. and Winston, and Elizebeth DL and her Hubby. Winston suddenly flew back from Shanghai. Haha! Must be cannot tahan the cold there.

He touched down at KL at 8am plus and I went to KL Sentral to pick him up. We met Eric for breakfast at chilli pan mee. 5 of us ordered 8 bowls of chilli pan mee!! We did not take any pictures.

Elizebeth DL has not been to Pavillion, so we went there. Then, we makan again at the food court. I was still so full and I cannot believe the amount of food Winston ordered.. really like a hungry ghost. Haha!

After Pavillion, we went separate and did our banking, etc. I went back home after that and as I am blogging this, I am eating my Mum's chu keok chou (vinegar pork knuckle). OMG!!! Eat again!!! My mum also cooked my favourite home made chicken rice and cincaluk. Aiyoyo...!!

I have sinned

I am so sinful... ever since the day I touched down at KL, I have been eating. I have been eating high carbohydrate, high calories, high fat, high cholesterol and oily food. Hokkien mee, pan mee, nasi lemak, mum's chicken rice, Seremban BBQ crab, etc.

Yeee.... I can feel that I'm 5kg heavier now. My tummy looks like 3 months pregnant. OMG!!!

Food, food, food... Eat, eat, eat.... in the end, become Fat, fat, fat! But what the heck... eat now, worry later. Who cares? Go back Shanghai diet lor.. right?

Home Sweet Home

It's Home Sweet Home 2008!

My first trip back to KL this year.. for CNY. So happy, so warm here in KL.

Something funny happened shortly before landing today. The MAS captain will usually announce this prior to landing: "Cabin crew, please be seated for landing".

Today, this was announced loudly: "Cabin crew, please return to your station for landing. You have 90 seconds!"

My eyes opened wide...I can see some passengers looking at each other and started laughing. I started to laugh too. What was he thinking? Anyway, it was a pleasant flight home.

When we finally landed, I am always glad to hear this announcement: "To all visitors, welcome to Malaysia. And to all Malaysians, Welcome Home!"

To all my friends working abroad who are back for the new year, WELCOME HOME!!

2 More Days of Homey Feeling

2 more days and I will be leaving KL again, heading back to Shanghai. I am feeling happy and sad. Happy that I am going back to see my Hubby, and sad that I am leaving my parents again.

After this trip, I do not know when will I be back at homeland again. If my schedule permits, I wish to come back as frequent as can be.

I will miss my family :(

Poslaju Boys BOLEH!!!

I am writing this now, in the late evening so that I can write this with a calm and cool mind. If I am writing this in the morning, all the KNN, CCB and Tius will be all over this post.

Earlier last week, I was waiting for the Poslaju delivery boy for an important document sent by my ex-employer for me to complete my 2006 tax clearance. The delivery boy did not turn up and all I received was a notice saying that I wasn't home, requesting me to self-collect the letter from their office. I was puzzled. I purposely did not go out and waited at home for this thing. Nevermind, I went to collect it anyhow.

This week, my mother-in-law told me that she sent something to me on Monday for me to bring back to Shanghai. The parcel should arrive by Tuesday. So, I am expecting not one, but TWO deliveries from Poslaju... one is the Direct Access credit card replacement and another from my mum-in-law.

Today, is Wednesday, 13th June 2007. When I open the front door this morning, a notice fell on the floor. I picked it up.

This notice says that the delivery boy was here on 8th June 2007 and could not deliver the letter. If he was here on 8th June, why am I only getting this notice on 13th June???
Please note that the note was not in my post box. It was slip between the door gaps. I would have noticed it immediately when I open the door.

I called up Poslaju and they say the delivery was made on 8th June. I called up Direct Access and confirmed that they sent the item out on 5th June and should reached me on 6th June. I suspect the bastard delivery boy did not do his job.

I called my mum-in-law and asked for the tracking number of the parcel she sent. I called Poslaju again and was told that the parcel was delivered yesterday,12th June 2007 and there was no answer at the door. KNNCCB!!! This confirms the bastard did not do his job. I told the person over the phone that I did not get any notice on yesterday's delivery. I told her.. "you punya delivery boy curi tulang la!" She just laughed.

I went to collect both item from the bank and the parcel at the Poslaju office this noon. I also made a complaint but I doubt they will improve on this. I bet the notice for the parcel will only arrive at my house either tomorrow or the day after.

Here is what I suspect those bastards did:

  1. In the morning, they do their jobs by sending all the letters to offices.
  2. Then, they don't care about deliveries to residential.
  3. They went home to sleep or to fuck some girls.
  4. In the evening, they return all the parcels and letters (supposed to be delivered to residentials) back to the office marked as undelivered.
  5. Few days later when they have the free time, they went to those residential areas and slip those 'Unable to Deliver' notice at our doors.

Those irresponsible bastards! If I have not called up to check on the parcel sent by my in-laws, I will need to make another trip to the Poslaju office. My stomach was full of fire this morning. Fucking irresponsible bastards!!! They really BOLEH!!

.
