20Q

Have you seen this? It's a game called 20Q, developed by Radica. Elizebeth DL brought this to my house yesterday for me to try. This colorful ball, can guess what you are thinking just by asking 20 Questions!

I tried to think of Rabbit, it gave me the answer Bunny. I think of Fan, Astray, Book, Camera, Credit Card .... all correct answers. WOW! I'm impressed!

Elizebeth said she think of penis... and it gave the answer Hand. I tried with breast... and it came out with the answer Belly Button. Close.. but... we are too mou-liu to even think of such lewd things. This gadget is written as suitable for kids ages 8 and up in the website. It's for kids, ok. So, don't la, go think of things like penis, or breast, or bulu kaki... it will never guess correctly of course. Not meant for corrupted minds!!!!

Plantation?

Next week, some big bagga from US is coming to my office for some visits. Most of them bringing their spouse... stupid bagga... Shanghai is at its hottest weather now and you bring your spouse here! Ok, back to the main topic. Now, one thing I hate about is to ying-chow all these people. We have to waste our time sitting in the board room the whole day, go out lunch with them, and bring them out for dinner at night, pretend to laugh at their lame jokes, in the end, we reached home late and yet, have to wake up early the next morning for the 9am meeting again. HATE IT!

So, my Cheena boss came to me just now and told me about our PLANTATION. HUH? Plantation?? But... but.. we are in IT, what plantation??? Yes. Plantation. Which... in fact, means, PRESENTATION! Bloody bagga cannot pronounce presentation properly. Thank God I have heard about this cheena defienciency from Elizebeth DL. So, I know he meant presentation when he said Plantation. KNN!

I don't understand why they cannot pronounce 'S' and 'TH' and 'F' properly. During my earlier times in Shanghai, my ex-colleague told me to press the F4 button on my keyboard. She said: "F-FU-Shi" HUH??? What is F-FU-Shi? I really have no idea what the heck was she saying until she pointed to the F4 key. Oohhhh.... you mean F-Shi. Why la pronounce as F-FU-Shi??? What is the 'FU' in the middle for??? Sigh!!!

I also realised that most of the people here pronounced 'TH' as 'S'. For example, there is a new girl this week and her name is Kathy. How do we pronounce this name? Ka-thy, right? Well.. NO! Not here in China. She introduced herself as 'Ka-Sie'. HUH?? Ooo... Ok-lor... Kasie. I just hope I won't get used to the way they pronounce things here. Damn it! I think my english is getting more and more broken.

I know, I am being mean writing about this. I shouldn't laugh at other people cause my own mandarin sucks as well. Well, who cares... they probably blog about "the girl from Ma-Lai-Si-Ya who speaks broken mandarin" and probably laughed at my mandarin amongst themselves, right?

So, it's fair.. we laugh at each other!!! KAKAKA!!! I'm going bonkers on this Friday. Kinda happy today... maybe there are too many jokers here to entertain me. HOHOHOHO!!!!

I'm an Octopus!!

This morning, worked like an octopus, replying all emails from here and there. Someone here went MIA and did not update on his progress to anyone in the team. I have to go dig out his work and look at what has been done and still, I don't know what is going on. Sigh... how to update those people chasing me for this answer??? I don't know la...

Hey... in case I did not update. This company is a US San Francisco based company, and yet here, operated by Cheena. So... very cheena. I am only on board this cheena company for 2 weeks, and my mailbox is flooded with almost 200 over emails now. Just wondering what will happen when I go for my 2 weeks' holiday in October??

What should I leave as my out-of-office auto reply?

HELLO.. KNN PPL...PLS DUN EMAIL ME UNTIL 11th OCTOBER, COZ I WUN BE IN THIS F*CKIN' OFFICE TO ANSWER ALL THESE F*CKIN' EMAILS THAT WASN'T MEANT FOR ME IN THE FIRST PLACE. SO GO F*CK YOURSELF UNTIL I RETURN FROM MY HOLIDAY!

LOR LEI JIN!!!!

To add on, yesterday, my friend Alicia read my blog for the first time. She ask to be more feminine, please. No vulgar words please! This morning, I had this conversation with Princess Eileen and Elizebeth DL. All of us agree that coming to China has made us more vulgar. Why? Because we couldn't stand the cheena here. Sometimes, ppl passing by me just spit right in front of me. Automatically, in my mind, I will be scolding KNNCCB!!! or F*CK!!!

Since I don't really say these words out loud, this blog is actually the best place for me to voice out my frustration. So, I don't care... More vulgar words to come!!! KNN!

Lor Lei Jin!!!

I have recently took up another job offer in Shanghai. Gosh... the jobs here are plentiful compared to back home in Boleh-land (thats for my industry). For those who do not know which industry I'm in, I am an Oracle ERP Consultant. Meaning... tok kok kinda job... err... actually, not exactly tok kok la. The ERP sales will tok kok, and we consultants will implement the shit that the sales people tok kok about, and worst... the final support consultants, will carry on supporting all the shits that people like me implemented.

I do not know why I really selected to take up this offer, because looking back, the other recent offer that I got from a MNC offers a higher overall package. WHY?? WHY?? Simple. Reason being, I am sick of travelling for all my projects. I prefer to stay put in Shanghai and be there for my hubby. Time for family planning also la. This job, I can remain in Shanghai and it is indeed what I wanted. That's why I took up this offer.

Once I'm in this company, I realised that this is a very Cheena company. We have to swipe out time in and time out, and we have to make sure we worked 8 hours a day. Else, potong gaji!! TIU! So strict ah? Then I asked, if I do not go for lunch, can I go off earlier. Answer is NO. They don't care wether you go for lunch or not, it's your pasal if you don't go out for lunch. If you come to office at 9.47am, you can only leave office at 6.47pm. KNNCCB!

Next, I realised that none of the people in office speaks acceptable english. Can you imagine?? This company is supporting US based clients. All communication are in english and you are telling me that they can't speak english??? Well... really cannot! I was in a conference call with the team that day and really... I don't know what the heck are they trying to express!

Then, I was put into a position where I need to managed the people here. I can imagine why the people from US are complaining and they are thanking God that someone like me is here to really communicate with them! These Cheenas here, don't reply to their email querries. What the heck??? They just ignore the emails or what??? Hello! I cannot reply emails for them ok! KNN!

What have I gotten myself into?? The worst of all.... my head hunter told me that for my skill sets and level of experience, I deserve more than the current package! TIU!!!

This time... I really LOR LEI JIN!!!!!!!

Another Sibeh Transformer Blog...

Ok, this is SIBEH Sien Monday, and I am blogging about an old topic that everyone has already blogged. I know I am slow, but can't blame me. Hubby was super busy, and movie tickets are darn expensive in Shanghai. I was initially thinking of waiting for those better pirated DVDs to be out and then watch it.

Now, this show, is SIBEH AWESOME! It was beyond my expectation. Firstly, I didn't expect to get to hear the sound effect from the cartoon... the sound when the robots 'Transform'. SIBEH COOL! My friend Leirbag told me that he has this sound as the SMS tone on his hp. Hahaha... cool!

Secondly, I didn't expect to see the robots actually 'Transforming'... the effect was SIBEH GREAT! This is a totally jaw dropping moment for me. Totally unexpected!

Thirdly, this show reminds me of my younger times. And to actually have my childhood cartoon being realised into a movie blockbuster, this is a SIBEH HAPPY FEELING! Total reminiscence!

Wooohoo!!..... I think I'm gonna watch it again, despite the very expensive movie ticket prices in Shanghai. It's RMB80 per ticket, equivalent to RM40. Expensive or not? Yeah man... SIBEH Expensive!!

Ghost Umbrella?

I have been missing for a while from blogging. But I didn't stop reading blogs and commenting. Reason being, I was pretty busy at work and I was sick at the same time.

Last Thursday, I bought a colorful umbrella, something that look like this:

The same day I bought it, I fell sick. High fever that night, followed by sore throat and coughing.

On Sunday night, I couldn't sleep and I dreamt that there is a ghost in my house. It was a man. He took the umbrella and tried to stranggle me with it. I woke up with heavy sweating. From Monday night till Wednesday night, I couldn't sleep well. There seems to be something there, disturbing me when I tried to sleep. I dunno what, but I was guesing that it may be the heat.

Yesterday, I told a few friends about this and all of them asked me to throw the umbrella away. My hubby freaked out when I sms him about it and he asked me to get rid of the umbrella ASAP. I did as they told me to. I placed the umbrella inside the lift and just left it there. I supposed someone will take it away, afterall, it was a brand new, nice umbrella.

Last night, I had a very sound sleep. I slept thoughout the night without waking up until this morning. My sore throat seems to be much better.

So.. is there really a ghost in my umbrella? Is this coincidence, or superstitious?

Emotional

Today, my Dear Brother ping me on MSN and asked the same question that he has been asking me since the beginning of the year; Should he resign?

Again, I told him; if you are not happy now, just resign la! Then he say this and that, worry that he will regret la, but he has no passion anymore in this job, repetitive work la, regret studying engineering la, wanna rest la blah, blah, etc...and many other things.

I really beh tahan liao. I scolded him kau-kau online. I told him that he is so lucky and still wanna complain so many things in life. I counted his blessings for him, I told him:

  1. Your sister, me, didn't wanna spend my parents money for studying. So I just took ACCA. Only cost like RM10k for the entire course. You, on the other hand, decided to take engineering. Spent almost RM50k to study at Monash University. Lucky or not? Still wanna complain about regretting to study engineering?

  2. You don't have to pay for any commitments at home. I still need pay for the house.

  3. You drive a Toyota Altis. Not long after graduate, can drive Altis... and don't have to pay a single cent for the car. I gave you the car, and I pay for the installment. You are so lucky, ok!

I also told him:

  1. Take a good look at our cousin, Yen. She is the person that I will award her BRAVO award. After her father got into a stroke, she is the only one in her family that struggled and worked hard to earn a living for the family. Can she say she wanna rest? No. She doesn't have the choice.

  2. Yen worked in a company where her boss always gave her a hard time. Can she resign? No. she don't have the choice. She needed the money for her family.

  3. Your brother in law, my husband. For the past 4-5 weeks have been working till like 3am everyday. Did he complain? No. He doesn't have the choice. It's his job!

  4. You are very lucky ok! You still have the choice to think whether to resign or not. Other people don't have the choice. You can resign without a job... then do it lar! Look for another job. Stop complaining!

SIGH! I love my Dear Brother very much. During our younger times, I used to wait for him to return from school and I will cook for him. My parents were working elsewhere and would only return home in the late evening. I basically took care of him when he was young.

I also want him to be happy and have a good life. But I can't stand this... sometimes I wish he could see that he is one of the luckiest people on earth. Everyone has ups and downs. Everyone has regrets. Everyone has achievements. Everyone has dreams. He just doesn't see how lucky he is. Or maybe he is too young to realize that.

Despite everything I wrote above, my Dear Brother is still a very good person with a very kind heart. I know him. He just needed some directions now. I already told him what I needed him to know, and I truly hope he gets it.

WTF ?????

Today, I went to meet Elizebeth DL and her gay friend for lunch. It was really hot in Shanghai so I thought I will wear something simple and that keeps me cool. So, I wore this:

Ok.. most girls will know that this is the summer collection from MaNGo. I bought it in Shanghai recently.

I met Elizebeth DL at Xintiandi and saw her in this:

WTF??????? Oiiiii!!!! Why are you wearing the same baju as me???? My goodness!!!!! Thank God it was in different color, else I would just buy a simple t-shirt and go change immediately!!!

We had a real good laugh. Elizebeth was acusing me of wearing the same baju as hers, as she said she bought it first while she was in KL. Tiu lor!!! Everyone was looking at us like dungu! They must be thinking we are some sort of promoter wearing a uniform.

Then, as we wanted to cross the road, we saw this sign:

WTF????? China govt trying to educate the chinese how to cross the road or what??? If yes, no need to write in English ok... they all can't understand anyway. And by having english, don't they realised they are indirectly teaching their citizen broken gammar!!! KNN!!!

Kinky Bday Gift

Yesterday, I has a great dinner with my good friend, Elizebeth DL. What made me happier was our good friend, Princess Eileen, called me from KL to chat and wished me all the best. I was touched. It was really sweet and it made my day! I didn't celebrate my birthday alone this year!!!

Elizebeth gave me the following gift;

A sweet 'lil bday cake. Sorry Elizebeth... too full to eat it last night. I only ate this morning. Hehe.

A sexy G-String!!! Hahaha. Good... long time didnt have kinky sex with my hubby liao. Gotta seduce him when he returns from outstation. Hahahhaahah!!!!

I was asking Elizebeth why she didn't buy me one that can tie up, so that it's easier to take off. She replied... "Take scissors and cut off la!" KNN! You know in this kind of session, it will be EXTREMELY dangerous to have a scissors around, ok!! Cut off the wrong thing how????

July 10th ... is my Birthday!!! This year, I am 31 years old. Wow! So old! But alas! Age is just a number. And singing a birthday song to myself... pathetic. What to do... Hubby is outstation and it's no big deal that I'm celebrating b'day alone again. But my good friend has promised to meet me for dinner tonight and we will celebrate!!! YAY!!!!

Ho! Ho! Ho!.... I think I'm going crazy on my Birthday... Ho! Ho!!

Guisi - Silk (2006)

Last Sunday, I watched a movie called Guisi (Silk - International English title). It's a sci-fi thriller about a paranormal scientist who captures a spirit of a murdered child ghost. Determined to learn the secret behind the ghost's past, the scientist enagages a team of experts. However, towards the end of the movie, a terrible energy that threathens to destroy them all was unleased. That's where the scary part comes in play.

I find this is a very sad ghost movie. My heart sank as they unfold the history of the murdered child. Sad.

To top that, I have written A Sad Ghost Story, a true life encounter of a late family member, whose soul cries at night... a very sad one. Go HERE to read it.

Grandma Got Possessed

My grandma passed away in 2004. I remembered I was in Bangkok for work at that time. When I heard of the news, I was feeling sad for the whole day. A few months before she left this world, something terrible happened. She got possessed. I wasn’t there at that time, but I managed to get my cousin sister, Yen, who was the first witness to tell me what happened that night.

To read the entire story, go HERE.

A Permanent Solution

I finally found a permanent solution to China's blocking of Blogspot.

Today, I installed a tool called TOR. This tool helps anonymize my web browsing so the China proxy doesn't even know I am browsing Blogspot! Yay! No need to go through the painfully slow anonymous websites anymore!!!

I have these little icons at the corner of my pc:

And this at the botton of my Firefox browser to ensure that it's working:

So, I can say goodbye to China's stupidity of blocking blogs! BYE BYE!!

Drink Water on Empty Stomach

I received this email and thought it may be a good idea to post this information on my blog. I believe it's true as I have read it elsewhere years ago.

DRINK WATER ON EMPTY STOMACH

It is popular in Japan today to drink water immediately after waking up every morning. Furthermore, scientific tests have proven of its value. We publish below a description of use of water for our readers. For old and serious diseases as well as modern illnesses the water treatment had been found successful by a Japanese medical society as a 100% cure for the following diseases:

Headache, body ache, heart system, arthritis, fast heart beat, epilepsy, excess fatness, bronchitis asthma, TB, meningitis, kidney and urine diseases, vomiting, gastritis, diarrhea, piles, diabetes, constipation, all eye diseases, womb, cancer and menstrual disorders, ear nose and throat diseases.

METHOD OF TREATMENT
  1. As you wake up in the morning before brushing teeth, drink 4 x 160ml glasses of water
  2. Brush and clean the mouth but do not eat or drink anything for 45 minutes
  3. After 45 minutes you may eat and drink as normal.
  4. After 15 minutes of breakfast, lunch and dinner do not eat or drink anything for 2 hours
  5. Those who are old or sick and are unable to drink 4 glasses of water at the beginning may commence by taking little water and gradually increase it to 4 glasses per day.
  6. The above method of treatment will cure diseases of the sick and others can enjoy a healthy life.

The following list gives the number of days of treatment required to cure/control/reduce main diseases:
  • High Blood Pressure - 30 days
  • Gastric - 10 days
  • Diabetes - 30 days
  • Constipation - 10 days
  • Cancer - 180 days
  • TB - 90 days
  • Arthritis patients should follow the above treatment only for 3 days in the 1st week, and from 2nd week onwards - daily.

This treatment method has no side effects, however at the commencement of treatment you may have to urinate a few times. It is better if we continue this and make this procedure as a routine work in our life.

Drink Water and Stay healthy and Active.

This makes sense .. the Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their meals..not cold water. maybe it is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating!!! Nothing to lose, everything to gain...

For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

A serious note about heart attacks: Women should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting. Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line. You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack.

Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms. 60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up.

Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know, the better chance we could survive...

Origus

I just had my lunch at Origus. Origus is a localised, small Italian near the place I work. I ordered spaghetti aglio olio and sauteed shrimp coctail.

This is my spaghetti... cost only RMB9 (RM 4.50 only)

Sauteed shrimp coctail. Cost RMB16 (RM8 only)

The taste not bad. Of course, can't compare to real Italian la. And they are damn cheap, ok. I spent a total of RMB25 for my lunch.

And just in case some of you have not seen a China's official tax receipt, this is it. Yes... looks like our lottery ticket. You can scratch at the right stub and if you're lucky enough, you will kena prizes. I have gotten a few times, mostly cash prizes of RMB5 and RMB10. Not too bad right?

China is Mad at Yahoo!

Seems like the Great FireWall of China has banned Yahoo.com. This happens after Yahoo scolded China on some rights issue.

Now, the entire China could not access Yahoo.com and Yahoo Mails.

Kekkekke..... what the heck!

A Happy Meal

See this cute chef...

I was at the foodcourt for lunch and this chef greeted me with a sweet smile. I ordered cuttlefish teppanyaki.

When my food was served, she asked me how was the food, whether it was ok. I told her that the cabbage was a little salty. Then she asked me if I wanted a replacement. I was like " huh??" But I told her it wasn't necessary.

Then I saw her cooking the cabbage again. She served me the cabbage again and asked if it is ok this time. I tasted it and I told her it was good.

WTF was that????? All these while I have been complaining about services in China and today, I got this wonderful treatment from the people working in the foodcourt???? WOW!!!! I think I will kena lottery today!!!
