This story starts with some American 'people'... earning USD. They went to Shanghai for a holiday and stayed at a relative's apartment. The apartment belongs to the main character in this story... the Girl. Fine. No complaints from the girl because they are family. They messed up her entire place. Fine. No complaints... family. They messed up her bathroom... toilet bowl got stuck and they did nothing. Fine. The girl called the maintenance guy and he fixed it. Of course, the girl has to pay for it. Ok... no complaints... family, right?
Then, these US people, they wanna go Beijing. They wanna go climb the Great Wall of China. The girl's Hubby paid for the trip using his credit card coz it was an online payment. It cost RMB7,500++ (thats about USD1,000) The idiot so-called American Man of the Family, never even bothered or 'pretend' to ask the girl's hubby how much is the trip and never pay them a single cent for the trip.
Then, they wanna go to Hangzhou to explore the West Lake. The girl's hubby bought the train tickets which cost a total of RMB600. They never offered to pay for it.
Then again, they wanna go to Suzhou to view the beautiful gardens of Suzhou. Again, the girl's hubby bought the train tickets which cost RMB600. Same thing... silent.
Now, question to you all readers out there: What are these people really thinking? Do they think that:
A. The girl's Hubby is a money printing machine??? Or
B. It is their right to use other people's hard earned money???
In the end... the girl had a discussion with her hubby. But her hubby thinks that this is all just a small matter. He says that whatever money spent and be re-earned. True enough. The girl agreed. It is just a small matter. BUT... this story is not about the money. This is a story about character and morale, of having the courtesy to ask, or say thank you, or offer to pay back the cost of something that others have paid for you on your behalf. Sad to say, there are many of these unappreciative people on planet earth. And the US people who went to Shanghai for a holiday are just one of them.

OK ok...Though that seem like a lot of money that the girl/girl's hubby "lost", but it proves that the girl's hubby heart is big :)

(a suggestion --- the girl and her hubby, go visit the american's house in america in the near future, ask the americans to book flight and vacation within america, like to LA or San Frans.. and then the girl & hubby just say nothing to offer to pay. muahaahah...)
I feel for this 'girl' as i've been in the same boat as hers before... some ppl really can be so 'faceless' one. What to do? Can only counting the days till they finally leave lor...

Well, the girl fall in love with the hubby in the beginning becoz he is a good man. But in fact coz of the hubby being good, so people take advantage of him.
Why ppl wont borrow money from u & me? hmmm...
As for family, I think the hubby pay for the sister ok, but the brother in law and kids also must sek zou lor. But still since the sis has married, I think it is not right for the bro to pay liao.
Anyway, a true hard fact ---

they think that, that particular family member is earning more so he/she should pay for almost everything.. they never think about that particular family member's needs and the hardship of him/her working for money

nicole, I totally agree on your comment. My dad is a victim too. His brothers and sisters all useless, only brain cells using is just to korek on more ways to get mroe money from my dad. I hate them.
Poor 'girls'!!The 'girls' hubby read her blog???Well what to do this is family.If the hubby is OK with this then it is better for the 'girls' to go along with his decision afterall it is family, look on the brighter side next time if stay US u ask to visit Disneyland, & then go la vegas etc all pay by this 'family'.Also if the 'family' ask the 'girls' hubby to sponsor their holiday it only proof that the hubby is rich & a nice guy & that the 'girls' did made a very good choice in haveing him as her hubby. I totally agree with everyone's comment. But, if I am the girl, and if I ever go to the US, I will definately not be like them and never ask them to sponsor my trip anywhere.
My principal is: We hold responsibility to our own actions. If we have no budget to go holiday, why go in the first place? Right? Unless they invite us then it is a different case.
I totally agree with Nicole. Some ppl have the idea that if others are earning more, its ok to let them pay for it. Bloody hell! Other ppl earning more so what?? Those other ppl also have their own commitments and family too, right?
As for Princess Eileen's comment, I think whether or not the sister is married, at least she should have the courtesy to ask if it is ok for her bro to pay for her trip. Should not pretend nothing happened and keep quiet. This is assuming and taking her bro for granted that he will pay for everything.
Horny ang moh, I think the Girl is pondering upon why her hubby's family is acting so chilidish and not so much on the money being spent. At least, AT LEAST, have the courtesy to ask or offer to pay, right?

Some people are just like that. I absolutely hate people like that. I call then acess baggage and parasites, and nobody needs them. But since they are family, you can tolerate to a certain extent.. but once that certain extent has passed.. there is going to be trouble.. hehehe
