A Very Boring Weekend

Ever wonder what would it feel like if we do not have off days such as Saturday and Sunday? Well... I am experiencing this now.... working a straight 7 days in a week. I am working today (Sat) and have to work tomorrow, which is a Sunday. No, not that I have an assignment deadline to meet, but both days are official working days in China.

For China, they have 3 days of vacation for Labor Day. Which means, May 1st, 2nd and 3rd are official day off. But in order to give everyone a week's long break, we are supposed to work on the previous weekends, i.e. today and tomorrow. This then extends the Labor Day break from May 1st to May 7th. Is this silly or what? I guess they do have their reasons, as many Chinese wanna 'balik kampung' during these breaks. But I think its rather silly for me to follow this break as my projects are dealing with people from Korea and Vietnam. So, while I'm at work today, they are having their weekends. Which means... I have totally nothing to do! And while I'm at vacation next week, they will be at work, and they will not be able to locate me. Silly!

I am so bored at work!!!

Will You?

Will you do this:

Scenario A:
Go to work looking completely like a ghost. Then spend more than 20 mins in the office washroom to put on your contact lenses and apply makeup. Then look like a complete different person after that.
- I see a Hong Kong girl that does this every morning in my office washroom

Scenario B:
Prick your pimple in an elevator mirror when the elevator is almost full.
- I saw a girl doing this today in the elevator. Almost puke all my lunch out. Why so gross one???

So.. will you do the above??

Where Are Thee Bigger, Sexier Ones???

Last week, I was out shopping for bras. For me, it has always been a frustrating ordeal to shop for bras, due to the following reasons:
  • All sexy bras comes in small sizes
  • I need a 70D. At least.
  • All big sized bras look like 'auntie bra' or 'ah poh bra'
  • Sexy bras that have bigger sizes are usually lousy in support
Can someone out there tell me why aren't there sexy bras with good support available in the market???

Balls & Beemers

Dear Hubby received 2 season passes to the BMW Asian Open 2007 tournament at Tomson Shanghai Pudong Golf Club. So we went there on Saturday.

First thing I saw was the parking lot - full of BMW 5 series as VIP shuttles. Too bad none for me.
Then we managed to catch the X5 demo.... like this:

Not sure why so many people are queuing up to take this ride. So fun meh?
Then we went to see the real thing. We were at Hole #17. I watched Ernie Els hit the ball and it landed right into the bunker!

This is Ernie Els's balls. Oopps! Ball. Kekeke.

Ernie Els hitting the ball off the bunker.

With the ball into the bunker and he still managed to score a Birdie! Cool!
Anyway, we didn't stay for long coz we only went there for the sake of meeting our friends and have some fun there. Not a die hard fan of any of the players. :)

A Story of a Girl

Today, I want to tell you a story. Please don't relate this to me... I am only telling a story of a Girl.

This story starts with some American 'people'... earning USD. They went to Shanghai for a holiday and stayed at a relative's apartment. The apartment belongs to the main character in this story... the Girl. Fine. No complaints from the girl because they are family. They messed up her entire place. Fine. No complaints... family. They messed up her bathroom... toilet bowl got stuck and they did nothing. Fine. The girl called the maintenance guy and he fixed it. Of course, the girl has to pay for it. Ok... no complaints... family, right?

Then, these US people, they wanna go Beijing. They wanna go climb the Great Wall of China. The girl's Hubby paid for the trip using his credit card coz it was an online payment. It cost RMB7,500++ (thats about USD1,000) The idiot so-called American Man of the Family, never even bothered or 'pretend' to ask the girl's hubby how much is the trip and never pay them a single cent for the trip.

Then, they wanna go to Hangzhou to explore the West Lake. The girl's hubby bought the train tickets which cost a total of RMB600. They never offered to pay for it.

Then again, they wanna go to Suzhou to view the beautiful gardens of Suzhou. Again, the girl's hubby bought the train tickets which cost RMB600. Same thing... silent.

Now, question to you all readers out there: What are these people really thinking? Do they think that:

A. The girl's Hubby is a money printing machine??? Or
B. It is their right to use other people's hard earned money???

In the end... the girl had a discussion with her hubby. But her hubby thinks that this is all just a small matter. He says that whatever money spent and be re-earned. True enough. The girl agreed. It is just a small matter. BUT... this story is not about the money. This is a story about character and morale, of having the courtesy to ask, or say thank you, or offer to pay back the cost of something that others have paid for you on your behalf. Sad to say, there are many of these unappreciative people on planet earth. And the US people who went to Shanghai for a holiday are just one of them.

In-Laws: Heaven or Hell?

In-Laws... Always the Love & Hate relationship. This is something about my life that I would like to blog about so badly, but I just cannot do it because it's too sensitive. So I'm just gonna post this as an open discussion, no complains, no names mentioned and don't even relate this to my marriage coz most of them are not what I'm dealing with.

From my very own experience, 90% of my girlfriends faces the problems with their in-laws intruding into their marriage. The other 10% - I label them as real-lucky people! Simple things like which house you should buy, who you should live with, how to renovate your house, what to name your kids, what dates to get married... all these are what I meant by interfering and intruding. Hello?? Can't they see that it's our own fucking lives? Can't they just stay out of our lives? I have 1 girlfriend who is at the edge of divorce because her mother-in-law is indeed a monster-in-law and she is thinking of writing a book entitled "101 Ways to Kill My Mother-In-Law". Hilarious! I know 2 other friends who have divorced and the main reason started from their in-laws intruding into their lives. OMIGOSH!!! This is a serious problem!

I believe any couple in love can live a truly happy life together. Then things started falling apart with silly arguments of the slightest matter when all the in-laws like parents and yee-ma-ku-ceh comes bitching into our lives. They don't understand how difficult this made us coz on one hand, we would really like to please the elderly, but on the other hand, we also want to please our spouse and live the life that we wanted. This is a really tough situation to handle and I bet most of us here don't know how to handle such cases. Suggestions like 'Try talking to your spouse abt the issue' or 'You need to sit with your in-laws and talk abt your need for privacy' are all easier said than done. It doesn't work in an Asian world.

Being Asians, we must accept the fact that when we marry, we not only marry the person we love but also the entire family! Yes... the ENTIRE FAMILY! (geeezzz....this is a real scary word). It's something that we cannot run away from. For better or worse... it was meant for the entire family.

... as I was writing this halfway, something happened and I saved this as draft. Now, I have lost all my inspiration and have no idea how to continue or how to end this blog. So, can someone out there be kind enough and help me end this stupid posting. What do you think? In-laws: Are they Heaven or Hell?

The Unspeakable Nightmare #2

PLEASE GIMME A GUN SO I CAN SHOOT MYSELF!!!!
If you would like to know why, go here.

Last night, I was feeling unwell. My tummy got so bloated and I just don't feel like eating anything. I suspected minor food poisoning. At about 10.30 pm, person no.6, the small futt, still refuses to take her dinner. Her mom made her peanut butter bread, but she wanted candy instead. To cut the story short... no candy until she eats her bread. She refuses... she shouted, screamed, cried, sulked. I almost died! Ignorance is bliss.. so I went into my room, closed the door, put on my my earphone and blast the ipod away. At last... peace and quiet.

But then, I woke up to some crying and screaming again. Looked at the clock. It was 4am. Yes... 4am!!!! Non-stop crying and screaming at 4am! I couldn't get enough rest. I called up office this morning and told them I will be in at noon. I reached office at abt 1pm today, still feeling unwell and tired.

So, if this continues tonight, please... just gimme a gun so I can shoot myself!

Underly Smooth??

Take a look at these Udderly SMOOth products. I bought one of these from a stall in Mid Valley during my CNY break.

My Dear Brother took a look at this weird product,

...and ask the following silly question:

Bro: Is this to smoothen the private part?
Me: What smoothen the private part? Oi!! This is handcream la!

Bro: Huh? (Takes a closer look) Oh... UDDER cream. I though UNDER cream.

Me: Duh!!!

One thing I do not understand about this product is the description at the back of the tube. It says: "Developed for use on dairy cows. Udderly Smooth moisturizes, smooths roughness and softens skin."

What is the meaning of "Developed for use on dairy cows"??? Ideas pls!

The Unspeakable Nightmare #1

***WARNING: This is a domestic complaint. If you are my Husband and reading this, please do not proceed.***

I can't believe this is the beginning of my 'minimum' 2 weeks' ordeal. My in-laws are here. Please don't have the idea that I hate my in-laws, but imagine yourself with these people in your beautifully decorated home:
  1. Mother in-law
  2. Father in-law
  3. Father in-law's brother
  4. Sis in-law
  5. Sis in-law's hubby
  6. Sis in-law's 3 year old daugther
  7. Sis in law's 5 mths old baby

I have no idea who the heck person no.3 is, and I don't like him. A total stranger in my house! I really feel like charging him hotel pricing for staying in my house and using my home facilities. The house is in a total mess. Person no.6 broke my bean bag coz she was jumping on it again and again and again. No apologies. Nothing... I am left with nothing but a broken bean bag. I am having headache now. I was dizzy yesterday. I almost lost my temper last night coz the small futt (person no.6) was sulking and crying and making so much noise during dinner. Just felt like giving her a slap!

'Nuf said for today... to be continued...

Sex Mini Game

What the hell is a sex mini game? Nope, not a quickie. Let me explain...

I was playing PS2 game, God of War for the second round after completing the entire game. This time, I wanna fully explore and if possible, I wanna beat the time limit. As I was exploring, I came across this sex mini game. I was like... "What???? Where did this come from???"

Here is how it goes: There are 2 women in the bed when Kratos is inside the ship. They are half naked and said something like, "Kratos, stay a little longer..." can't really remember. Then, I controlled Kratos to jump on the bed, and a circle appeared above the bed, indicating a Mini-game. When I pressed Circle, the game starts. All I see is the vase by the bedside, (and also hear all the groaning and moaning) but as it get further, the vase will shake more and more, until it falls and breaks. - At this point, meaning kau tim!

This game is rated M for Mature. Now I know why :) This is truly, truly an amazing game, not the sex part, but the entire game is really good!

Of Golfers and Bowlers

Which do you prefer? I heard of the following arguments from my friend, who is a bowler and her hubby who is a golfer. Bowlers will never understand why golfers golf. This one's for the bowlers:
  1. We have an air-conditioned environment.
  2. Golfing under the hot sun - are you crazy??
  3. We throw the ball away, and the ball comes back to us automatically.
  4. Golfing - you hit the ball... and yet you have to walk around and search for the ball? This is insane. What is really so nice about golf??
My other golfer friend, gave me the following arguments. This one's for the golfers:
  1. Golf is a unique game. Why? Read on...
  2. All other games has a fixed environment. Basketball court, badminton court, bowling alley. But golf... its always different. You have different course, different weather, different wind direction, different scenery each time you play.
  3. Golf requires different strategy and challenges the player itself. You have to know which club to use, which driver to use, which direction to aim for, you have to know the wind velocity and direction and the strength you require to hit the ball.
  4. Golfing challenges your patience and reveals the true character of a golfer. You can understand a person's character judging by the way he / she golfs. Some takes it slowly, some just wanna rush it, some are just prudent and some are impatient.
I can never understand why golfers golf... though I used golf too. After hearing the above, I gave it a thought. I find it amazingly true. What say you?
Ah... and a last note. Bowlers should not golf, and golfers should not bowl. You know why? Bowling is a front swing and golfing is a side swing. If you play both, it will spoil your swing. Interesting theory eh?

3 Heinekens and a Corona

... and a bowl of Curry Fish Ball in between...
...ok... and 2 sticks of unfinished satay in the background.

Picture courtesy of Princess Eileen. Not sure why she took this pic, though. We were partying at Kevin's Thai Restaurant last Saturday for their grand re-opening ceremony. All food were free!!! But we have to pay RMB25 for beer and RMB15 for soft drinks though. There was a lucky draw with a grand prize of return ticket to Bangkok, but since we did not stay till the end, we never get to know whether we were the lucky ones.

I am not advertising for Kevin's restaurant (trust me, I get nothing out of this, and this is not those PayPerPost thingy, ok.), but I felt more welcomed in this restaurant than any other restaurants in Shanghai. Reason being, the owner is someone we know, and he is a Penangnite. Kaki-lang mar... right? Malaysians must support Malaysians.

Ok, back to the story. The party starts at 7.30pm. But we, being the kiasu type, went to the restaurant at 7pm. Very very kiasu... wanna grab nice seating and wanna be the first to grab the food! "Tsk tsk tsk... what kind of 'lang' are we? Why so greedy one?? Shame!" Well, we did get a real good seating, and we were also the very first few who started grabbing the food even before 7.30pm. Can't blame us, someone started to take the food from the buffet area and we just follow suit. Food was good, but we were complaining of the lack of desserts. We love the pumpkin cake but there were only very few for the very large crowd. The girls, as usual, talked about Sex & Vibrators that night. I bet the guys sitting at the table beside us was enjoying our conversations. It was a fun night out. Something that I hadn't experienced in a long, long time. A happy-happy time indeed!

Oi!!! We weren't ready yet lar!

ahh.. this is better. Deisy, Eileen and Me. The other guy is Ash.
